Eliana Silva

IMG_0815Eliana Silva Hernandez is an Urban Development Consultant from Venezuela. She holds a MSc. in Urban Management from Technische Universität Berlin and a BA in Economics from Universidad Central de Venezuela. She has eight years of professional experience, six of them working with social inclusive development projects at the Latin American development bank CAF, and two years as a consultant working on diverse urban topics including housing, urban economics, resilience and climate change.

At CAF, Eliana worked at the bank’s front office, managing project data and supporting missions that aim to strengthen the political and economic nexus between the bank and its clients. Moreover, she worked within the social development, monitoring water and sanitation and urban regeneration projects. She also participated in the initiation of the Cities with a Future Program “Ciudades con Futuro” to identify potential projects that promote inclusive, competitive and smart cities.

At Rapid Urbanism, Eliana pursues research on incremental housing, particularly the case of Ciudad Bachué: a progressive settlement in Bogotá, Colombia. More generally, she collaborates on projects related to municipal finance, resilient urban infrastructures, incremental housing and housing finance.
